The online open-source free Encyclopedia called Wikipedia describes Shanghai as follows:
Shanghai is divided into 19 county-level divisions: 18 districts and 1 county.
Nine of the districts govern "Puxi", or the older part of urban and suburban Shanghai on the west bank of the Huangpu River:
- Huangpu District (Simplified Chinese: 黄浦区; Hanyu Pinyin: Huángpǔ Qū)

- Zhabei District (闸北区 Zháběi Qū)
- Hongkou District (虹口区 Hóngkǒu Qū)
- Yangpu District (杨浦区 Yángpǔ Qū)
"Pudong", or the newer part of urban and suburban Shanghai on the east bank of the Huangpu River, is governed by:
Pudong New District (浦东新区 Pǔdōng Xīn Qū) — Chuansha County until 1992.
Eight of the districts govern suburbs, satellite towns, and rural areas further away from the urban core:

aSmallCity.com ready to go!
Well folks, the basic service of aSmallCity.com is ready. For those who are still curious what's all about with this stuff, this might be helpful:
Especially those who have never been to specific places on the globe may benefit from others' individual experience at this moment in time. In this respect, many persons have set-up their own weblog (online diary) in order to write down their personal impressions for themselves and their buddies.
For this reason, aSmallCity offers free of charge weblink entries to folks who are writing or expressing their individual city experience on their personal webpage. Every person is living their individual experience! The intention is to collect as many individual perceptions as possible in order to not only provide a variety of information but also information available in different languages.
We would encourage everyone to register his or her personal city webpage as aSmallCity may grow steadily for the benefit of its visitors!"

Air China flight CA 936 from Frankfurt to Shanghai
According to official announcements there was a case of infectious tuberculosis on the Air China flight CA 936 from Frankfurt to Shanghai on 12 February 2005.
All passengers are required to contact a medical practicioner immediately and to check themselves if everything is fine. If you know someone, please inform them accordingly.
The official announcement of the German Consulate in Shanghai may be read by clicking the link below.
Official announcement of the German Consulate (German) in Shanghai:

Welcome!
Hello everybody,
after days of preparation I am happy to announce that this webpage is ready to go (although minor changes have still to be done).
This weblog represents the continuation of my first shanghai weblog, which due to a server change had to be shut-down recently. However, all existing information about my earlier trips to China and particularly Shanghai may be read through this website by simply clicking on the previously monthly selection.
What you are hopefully going to find in this Shanghai related weblog are hands-on experience about every kind of arrangements which have to be done before effectively moving to Shanghai and of course detailed information about the daily life in Shanghai in respect to business and leisure.
I would highly appreciate an open and interactive exchange with all weblog readers including any news or link information related to the topic covered by this weblog.
I am looking forward to your comments and suggestions.
Best regards
Claudio
